Reflections on Self and Spirit

The spread of materialism has generally rendered human beings forgetful about their spiritual essence. This lecture will serve as a reminder of the significance of the spiritual aspect of our being while at the same time highlighting how the Islamic tradition has perceived both the soul and the spirit. It will also emphasize the need to create a balance between the requirements of the body and the spirit to cure many of our psychological ailments.

The lecture will be conducted in Arabic; simultaneous translation will be available.

Speaker: Dr. Aisha Yousef Al-Mannai Director, Muhammad Bin Hamad Al Thani Center for Muslim Contribution to Civilization
